The Great Seal:

THE GREAT SEAL derives from a related surrealist exercise incorporating multicolored faux canine excrement intended to be perceived at a distance as an inviting “tapestry of color”, but to incorporate the element of surprise (ie, repulsion) upon closer inspection. THE GREAT SEAL immortalizes the second (canine) mascot of the University of Virginia, using an orange and blue mound of faux atop a star-studded antique farm stool. A related animation shows SEAL “creating” the stool from his heavenly perch.
